Provider Surveys: DADS is Looking for Your Input on Training Topics

DADS is requesting feedback from nursing home administrators and/or directors of nursing on 2 proposed training topics: transition to practice and abuse, neglect and exploitation.

Transition to Practice Program (Deadline March 11)

Nursing home DONs are encouraged to complete an online survey by March 11 about the need for a Transition to Practice (TTP) program for new nursing home RNs and LVNs. This program would be not only for newly graduated nurses, but also nurses who are coming from other practice areas to work in nursing homes. Your feedback is very important to us!

The DADS program would be 2-3 days long and would focus on promoting the safety of residents and improving nursing home quality of care.

Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation (Deadline March 19)

The DADS Quality Monitoring Program has been given approval by CMS to use Civil Monetary Funds to develop training for nursing home staff about abuse, neglect and exploitation (ANE). It will not follow the same curriculum as the current Joint Services Training, but will focus on best practices for preventing, identifying and responding to ANE in nursing facilities.

DONs and administrators are asked to complete a survey about this proposed training by March 19.

Questions can be emailed HERE.
