Medicare Cuts May Be Coming

Nursing
homes throughout the nation are gearing up for possible cuts in
Medicare.
Roughly two-thirds of all patients in nursing homes are on Medicare.
A study by the Texas Health Care Association
shows that the cuts will cost Texas nearly $50 million. If you break
that down by patient, it will be about $10 per patient per day in
rural facilities.
Nursing homes in rural areas will be hardest hit. Those with nursing
facilities in Texas are also concerned because the Lone Star State
ranks 49th in the nation for Medicare reimbursement.
Tim Graves, the President of the Texas
Healthcare Association, urges the Bush administration to reconsider
moving forward with the budget cuts. - BigCountryHomePage.com
