Best Practices Home Page

There are two ways in which you can view these documents.
The first is by clicking on the (.doc) link.  When clicked, your computer will do one of two things.  Either it will open up the document in your browser using Microsoft Word, or it will bring up a window asking whether you want to save the file to your computer or open it up at its current location.  The best option is to save it to your computer (remember where you save it to), then open it with your word processing software (these documents are written with Microsoft Office 97).
For the .pdf documents, you will need to have Adobe Acrobat (Reader) version 4.0 in order to view and print these online.  If you do not have version 4.0 Reader on your computer, you can download it free at:  http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html .  Remember that when you are printing the document, use the printer icon that is at the top of the .pdf document, not the print icon at the top of your browser.
